The wedding occurred in Albemarle, NC (just beyond Charlotte) at Dennis Vineyards - I wanted a backyard wedding by having an indoor facility for lunch, also it had both. I also love nature, which means this was just perfect!
My theme was simple elegance - the only real flowers were the hydrangea bouquets mostly produced from my mom's bush, and also the petals are thrown through the flower girl. My colors were light blue (or Carolina blue – I visited UNC-Chapel Hill), light gray, and white. We included some slightly darker shades of blue too. My color choices were virtually just that I love blue and I love Carolina.
Our big day was perfect on a lot of levels - great weather, light breeze, fluffy white clouds - and every one of our wedding parties looked stunning. I was just amazed by how beautiful my friends looked. We had this kind of amazing day - and a lot of fun dancing. I was Ballroom Club president at UNC-Chapel Hill, so dancing would be a big deal for me personally. I couldn't dance the nighttime away during my giant princess dress, so using a bridesmaid dress in white for my reception dress was great! I danced for 3 solid hours.
I enjoyed a lot of the wedding planning process. I'm an all-natural planner, so I liked seeing my vision grow and develop. I had no idea what I desired to start with, other than a backyard wedding. When I found the venue, my vision kind of grew to suit that. When considering colors, Carolina blue just felt right on a lot of levels, and I was happy to discover that Azazie offered a lot of different colors and styles. I didn't have much of the theme for my wedding - it had been more of the color scheme - and thus finding the right color obtainable in dresses that will look good on every girl helped. Once the colors were determined, anything else was fun additions, answering the question, 'How do I get this to a beautiful day I will always remember?' I wanted your day to seem like I would be a princess inside a fairytale - also it did. yellow bridesmaid dresses.
