In 2012, Kevin Durant and his Nike team designed a special Nike KD 4 color scheme to commemorate his aunt Pearl. Pearl tragically passed away in 2000 in the fight against lung cancer. Since then, Swoosh's basketball department has maintained this tradition on every pair of all-star signature sneakers of the Brooklyn Nets, and now it has officially launched the Nike KD 14 "Auntie Pearl."
These kicks have a variety of patterns, materials and intricate details. The bottom layer is designed with a soft pink knit material, and is equipped with a full-body swirl pattern. On the tongue and laces, the embellishment of pink powder also makes people feel their presence. The former separates the gold-plated mark between the "KD" on the right shoe and the "Aunt Pearl" on the left shoe. The inner layer of the tongue and the insole read "Remembrance of Aunt Pearl, who inspired us to continue to fight for the cure of disease", and bear the Kai Yao trademark.
The midsole introduces more interesting elements because they are equipped with two-tone pink and spot patterns, and the outsole is treated with gum peel.
